Our Story — Built on West Texas Grit
Tradewind Sound was founded by Brian Thomas in 1981 in San Angelo, Texas. What began as a passion for music and live sound — inspired by a musical family with ties to the hit song "Last Kiss" — quickly grew into one of the region's most respected production companies.
Today, Tradewind Sound is a nationally recognized production company known for professionalism, technical expertise, and dependable service. Our team includes some of the industry's most knowledgeable technicians, and we continually invest in the latest professional audio, lighting, video, and staging technology.

Brian Thomas founds Tradewind Sound in San Angelo — a passion for live audio born from a musical family with ties to the hit "Last Kiss."

1990s
The installation division takes off — churches, nightclubs, restaurants, and venues across West Texas get permanent Tradewind systems.

Tradewindsound.com goes online in the dial-up era, backed by pro gear from EV, Tomcat, Bil-Jax, Wenger, and American DJ.

Chris LeDoux plays under a Tradewind truss roof — one of the landmark outdoor country productions of the era.
